The Departments of Planning and Public Works have been working to improve the Town’s Technical Standards for road repair and road construction. In reviewing the existing practices, it became apparent that additional topics also needed to be addressed in a comprehensive document.
A small working group comprised of the Town Engineer, Highway Superintendent, Director of Planning, Town Planner, Consultant Engineer, Consultant Soil Scientist and Stonington Stormwater Task Force Committee members was created and has been working on this document for over two years.
While the graphic elements of the standard have not been fully completed, the text component of this document is at a point where public feedback is crucial. We are happy to review any portion of this document and welcome all input. Please forward any comments that you have to the Department of Planning. A Public Informational Meeting will be held in Mid April.
